Welcome to our October Newsletter.
We have had a busy September and lots of good news to share starting with our awards ceremony on the 9th September young people from across the diocese came together to receive their Pope John Paul II Award and Faith in Action Award. Their hard work and dedication was recognised alongside family, friends and school staff who have supported the incredible work of these young people. Parish leaders and clergy who completed their Bethsaida award also received their certificate and recognition to their commitment to young people.
We continued our celebrations with our Jubilee Pilgrimage Walk from St Chad's Cathedral to the Shrine of Carlo Acutis at St Michael's Penn. Concluding our pilgrimage walk with prayer at the shrine before Mass with the Parish of St Carlo Acutis. After an exhausting 14 miles we were so pleased to celebrate the newly canonised saint with the parish and many families and young people.

🌟 Young Carers Retreat at Alton Castle 🌟

Take a break. Have an adventure. Meet others who understand.
Being a young carer is an incredible responsibility — but everyone deserves time to rest, recharge and have fun. That’s why we’re inviting young carers in school years 7–13 to join us at Alton Castle for a special Young Carers Retreat, running on 15th–17th December and again on 19th–21st January.
Over the weekend, you’ll get the chance to step away from your busy routine and dive into a world of adventure — think mountain biking, low ropes, archery, and loads more! It’s all about connecting with other young carers, making memories, and giving yourself the space to just be you.
Thanks to generous funding, the cost is only £49 per person, covering accommodation, meals, and activities.
So why not take this time for yourself?
Come laugh, challenge yourself, and be part of something special.
